thingiverse
Stencils for spray-painting digital camouflage patterns are available for download at Thingiverse, specifically designed for use with Sensor Array project enclosures found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1670541. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Printrbot * Printer Model: Simple Black * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2 mm Notes: These stencils are made from PLA and can be painted with a variety of colors to achieve the desired camouflage effect. Post-Printing: Step 1 - Base Layer: Paint your item with a base camouflage color using spray paint or a brush. Base Camouflage Layer: The stencils are thin and can be cut if needed. Use painters tape to protect areas from overspray. Position the stencil over the area to be painted and spray the second layer. I used the stencil on larger flat areas, but touched up with a brush where necessary. Use Painters Tape to Prevent Overspray: Position the stencil carefully to prevent overspray from affecting adjacent areas. Secondary Color Layer: Step 2 - Second Layer: Use the stencils with larger openings for the secondary base color. Spray paint the second layer, taking care to protect areas from overspray using painters tape. I used a paintbrush and excess paint on the stencil to touch up and cover areas where the stencil could not be used. Third Layer Stencil with Painters Tape: Use painters tape to protect areas from over spray when applying the third layer. Additional Information: My sensors will be used primarily in wooded environments, so I repainted the stencils with darker colors to achieve a better camouflage effect. You can use any colors you like to match your surroundings. The stencils are easily modifiable during the painting process by cutting them to fit specific needs. I have included 123D design files for easy modification of the templates, allowing you to customize the stencils for your specific application.
