Digital Caliper Toggle Switch Mod - Slightly tweaked (larger)
thingiverse
This design shines brightly, but I had some trouble with the fit in my specific caliper.\r\n\r\nChanges made:\r\n* The part was beefed up (to prevent it from getting stuck between the plastic body of the caliper and the circuit board)\r\n* The battery interrupt blade was lengthened (it sometimes didn't fully cover the terminal in my calipers)\r\n* The angled "ramp" part on the blade was removed. I assume this feature was designed to provide strength and a bit more tension for the "off" mode of the switch, but the switch kept getting hung up when I tried to toggle it off. It might be due to a difference between the stock battery cover and the 3D printed one. The stock one may apply more downward pressure on the battery, which makes the tolerance for blade movement much tighter.\r\n\r\nThanks PartayPat for the original design; I'll print several of these to keep in my portable tool bag to hand out to anyone with a digital caliper. It's astonishing that no manufacturer has designed a caliper with a physical switch yet - battery life is the #1 complaint with these devices.
