Digital caliper bed levelling jig for Rep (remix)
thingiverse
It's a remix of Willfly's brilliant design, available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:455050. I adapted the idea and Rhino's file to create a clone of the Replicator 2. Here's what I did: Increased the arms' distance for improved functionality. Lowered the screw's wall to make it easier to fit. Modified the canals under the arms to accommodate the toothed belt perfectly. UPDATE: After testing this thing, I realized it's not accurate enough for its intended task, which is a bit disappointing. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .20 Infill: 20% Notes: The curl effect in the arms was a real challenge, but it's worth noting that the surface area of this thing is quite small. Make sure it has good adhesion to the bed to avoid issues. I'm aware that this is a common problem with my prints, and I'm working on finding a solution. I didn't try using rafts, but it might help improve the print quality. Mouse ears in the design could also be a bulletproof way to solve this issue. The original model didn't need supports, nor did this one, but not using supports might create some bridges. Printing time: 1 hour and 22 minutes. Filament used: 6.0145 meters (1.75mm diameter).
