This digital birdhouse design is specifically for a competition. It consists of three files: one for the entire house in one piece, another for the body, and a third for the front. A Sketchup model is also included. The unique feature of this birdhouse is its letter-shaped vents and extruded letters. For printing without supports or just for aesthetics, it can be placed on its back using an SLS printer. Alternatively, print the two-part version without supports. Ensure that the body is printed with its open side facing up, and the front with the text facing up. Adjust the scale according to your printer and local bird size. Print settings for Makerware medium are recommended without support. The pieces can be glued together using acetone, superglue, or any other adhesive of choice. If desired, you could screw the front to the body to allow for cleaning access. In the Sketchup file, all components (whole birdhouse, roof, and body) are separate for ease of use and potential removal of the landing stick if needed.
