I will not be making any further modifications or updates to this model unless requested. Digger 2.0 now replaces this model at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1427173. I was inspired by the Finger Digger (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:297336) when designing my own digger using Fusion360. My digger features both boom up/down and bucket in/out controls, making it a blast to design and assemble. As I type this description, I am printing the first version of it, but please note that this is still a work in progress, so print at your own risk. Some tweaks to the design may be needed before completion, which could become apparent once my prototype is finished. Changes include Bucket V1.1, with a strengthened flange connecting the bucket to the boom for added stability.
