This diffuser attaches securely to the front of your Canon MT-24EX flashheads, providing a large, evenly lit 175x120mm rectangular front face. The shape of this face is carefully designed to ensure that the MT-24EX's natural beam pattern completely covers it. The focusing lamp still functions, but its brightness has likely diminished to the point where it's no longer useful for anything. To print this diffuser using white PLA, use a 0.2mm layer height, two perimeters, and no supports. The infill density doesn't matter in this case. Set the seam position to "random" to avoid any weaknesses in the wall caused by the layer change scar lining up. The 0.2mm front face is problematic because printing it as a single 0.2mm layer can lead to splitting along the direction of extrusion lines when pressure is applied to it. To prevent this, print the bottom face as two 0.1mm layers instead. This way, the second layer will be oriented at 90 degrees and prevent the diffuser face from splitting. With PrusaSlicer 2.1, you can achieve this by setting the "first layer height" to 0.1mm, right-clicking the model, and selecting "height range modifier." In the settings panel that appears, choose "Start at 0.0, stop at 0.2, layer height 0.1." This will cause the bottom layer to be printed as two 0.1mm thick layers, while the rest of the model is printed in 0.2mm resolution for speed. This method reduces printing time by 50% compared to slicing the entire model at 0.1mm layer height! The example photos were taken with this diffuser, my 300mm extension tube for Canon cameras, and my Loc-Line arm system. I've included the Fusion 360 design file so you can adapt this to your needs.
