Diffraction spike generator for Nikon HB-71 lens hood

I crafted this component to generate the diffraction spikes visible in images captured through reflector telescopes, primarily aimed at facilitating focusing and concealing minor focus inaccuracies. It accommodates the Nikon HB-71 lens hood found on the Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6. I'm uncertain about other lenses that come with this hood or what other lens hoods it may fit. It could probably be scaled to fit other lenses and might require slight sanding to achieve a precise fit. The second image above showcases a sample I captured with this tool attached to my camera.
