Diesel-02EL locomotive LEGO/ERS, radio controlled engine/lights
pinshape
This locomotive is the most feature-rich model I've created so far. Paired with ERS/LEGO track compatibility, it allows you to make it fully radio-controlled and electric train-ready. The model features slots for separate white and red light sources in its headlights, backlit gauges inside the cab, and two of four axles driven by a motor (prepared for 360-degree servos). A new ERS coupling system is also included, optimized for demanding track curvatures on LEGO and ERS systems. To learn more about assembly, take a look at this PDF instruction: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2v7... This locomotive is compatible with both LEGO tracks (adequate gauge line spacing) and its native Euroreprap Railroad System. A free inter-connector track model is available for download. Printing requires no support, even on small bed printers (13x13 cm beds are suitable). No special tools are needed during assembly of printed parts; I use a metal nail file to finish areas where excess material remains. The assembled model measures 323x134x72 mm (12.72x5.28x2.83 in) in dimensions. Various LEGO-style tracks can be freely downloaded and printed from websites like Thingiverse, for example: http://www.thingiverse.com/things/...
