DieHard battery cover

DieHard battery cover

This is a custom-designed battery cover for a 19.2V DieHard rechargeable battery used in power tools. The contacts of this particular DieHard battery are recessed, making a protective cover less crucial than it would be for other brands like Ryobi. However, I believe the cover will prevent debris from entering and potentially damaging the battery. I created this design specifically for my father-in-law, who owns Sears power tools that are likely part of the 19.2V DieHard series. Conveniently, I found a used DieHard battery in the recycling bin at my local Lowe's store, allowing me to test out the cover before sharing it with others. The Ryobi cover, which was used as a reference point, fit relatively well but was slightly too small. The slotted version did not hold up long-term due to wear and tear on the plastic slot. Additionally, the Ryobi cover required an extra slot on a different side to accommodate the ridge found on DieHard battery shafts. Two versions of this custom design are available: _1r with one internal rib and _4r with four. The ribs taper as they rise from the bottom, ensuring that they only grasp the battery when fully seated.
