Die Atlas
sketchfab
About the Process This 3D model is created through extracting point cloud data from a series of calibrated images taken with a standard DSLR camera. The extracted data is then processed into mesh data, which forms the foundation of the model. A texture map for this model was also generated using the same images and applied to the resulting mesh data. About the Sculpture The "Die Atlas" sculpture is a stunning tile mosaic artwork created by Artist Rafika Mettendorff, currently on display at the Stiftung Eben-Ezer institute in Lemgo, Germany. Inspired by the iconic "Nanas" sculpture located in Hanover, this impressive piece showcases the artist's unique vision and skill. Special Thanks We would like to extend our gratitude to Prof. Jens Uwe Schulz of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen Lippe for their invaluable contribution to this project.
