Dice Tray With Dice and Token Holder, Reversable Lid, and Sound Dampening Mat
thingiverse
This is a dice tray that features an adjustable lid, multiple layers of storage, and a noise-reducing mat. It boasts a precise octagonal shape with external dimensions measuring 6" x 1 3/4" (~152mm x 44m). The dice tray's walls stand at approximately 1 1/2" (38.75 mm) in height, ensuring that dice remain securely inside and are easily readable. All components can be printed without supports and are scalable as long as the X and Y axes are scaled equally. This design is ideal for use on a standard *Star Wars: Legion* table, but was also created with common polyhedral dice in mind. The images show the tray in various stages of opening and closing. A snug yet secure fit was aimed for, allowing the lid to remain in place during travel. To remove the lid, simply grasp the sides opposite the slots and gently flex outward. **Included Files:** * **DT_Tray**: This is the main dice tray, featuring an octagonal shape with chamfered edges that allow the lid to securely lock into place. * **DT_Lid**: The first of three available lid options, a simple yet effective design that can be customized further if desired. * **DT_Lid_D6_OUTSIDE**: The second option features a D6 image on the outside (top) of the lid, ideal for use with opaque plastics. * **DT_Lid_D6_INSIDE**: The third and final option includes a D6 image on the inside (bottom) of the lid, suitable for translucent plastics. This version is shown in the images and utilizes an *Archimedean Chords* bottom fill pattern to create a striking effect with translucent plastic. * **DT_Dice_Holder_BOTTOM**: This component serves as the base of the dice and token holder, boasting a depth of approximately 12mm and accommodating dice and tokens up to 11mm in size. The top of this tray slots onto the handle and rests on this bottom tray. A *Concentric* bottom fill pattern was used for this part. * **DT_Dice_Holder_TOP**: This component represents the top portion of the dice and token holder, featuring six individual dice slots. Each slot measures approximately 23mm wide, with a depth of 12mm and 11mm of space above it. This design accommodates D20s while preventing larger dice from jumping out of their slots, making them easy to pick up. * **DT_Mat**: The sound dampening mat is printed in TPU but can be made with any rubbery plastic material. The top of the mat is printed on the build plate, and an *Octagram Spiral* bottom fill pattern was used. It's recommended to glue this part to the bottom of the dice tray. If you don't have soft plastic filament, consider tracing the tray onto felt or a soft plastic placemat. Make sure to make the cutout slightly smaller than the mouth of the tray to accommodate the bottom chamfer. The D6 image used in this design is from OpenClipart.org and was created by wirelizard. Despite this issue, I have downloaded the file multiple times and it indeed contains the plain version of the lid.
