Dice Tower - Cura Tree Suports
prusaprinters

This is a simple dice tower completely modelled in Cura slicer 4.12.

I challenged myself to create something only using simple building blocks within Cura. I used a Cura extension/plugin called "Calibrations shapes" and by adding simple calibration cubes/blocks and then scale/move/rotate them I was able to create a dice tower. In addition to that I used Tree supports to give it a more organic look. To save on filament and print time I removed all top/bottom and walls from the blocks to expose the grid-based infill. You need a good brim for this to hold togethher.

You should only use the Cura slicer project file (3MF), the STL is only for reference. I assume you need to be quite fluent with Cura to be able to mod it. Hopefully all settings for the project should be embedded in the 3MF project file.

This takes a couple of minutes to slice so be patient. Print time on my Ender 3 Pro was approx 9 hours. You must have very good cooling enabled for this print to work. My print worked on the first try.

Be extremely patient and careful when removing the model from the build plate, it is delicate.

Enjoy!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.28

Infill:

Grid 35%

Filament: N/A PLA N/A

Notes:

Tree supports, "Touching build plate only"
Infill was Grid, density 35%
Wall thickness = 0

Top/Bottom layers = 0

Build plate adhesion = Brim 10mm

Category: Toy & Game Accessories
