Dice Jail

Dice Jail

A friend asked me to build a dice jail and I decided to give it another shot. I had created one last year but I've learned a lot since then and I've been playing around with OpenSCAD so I thought I'd try making one from scratch using that software. And here it is.\r\n\r\nThe d20 topper came from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12097\r\nEvery other part of this design is completely mine.\r\n\r\nThe OpenSCAD code to create this isn't very complicated at all. My code could use some cleaning up, but it works just fine. With a bit more work, it could be easily made adjustable in many ways: height, diameter, bar thickness, rim height, number of bars, and probably a few other things too. Also, I made it a round circle; it could be more angular like 12-sided or 20-sided instead. I had originally started with 24 sides to match my original jail from last year but that's just another parameter... (the roundness of the circle is just 256 sides being so small you can't really tell anyway)\r\n\r\nNow that I've printed it out, I probably would adjust it to make it thinner in a few places. I made everything way too thick and overall a couple cm taller than I really intended. It looks nice but it's huge (14cm to the top of the die, 8cm in diameter). Plenty of room for misbehaving dice.
