Dice Dispensing Organ
cults3d
This is a print for those times when you need to roll maximum dice with minimum effort! It uses a dispensing mechanism in the back to shoot the dice out of the organ and tumbling down the "keys" into the courtyard below. I don't own enough dice to actually fill this out, but I currently have it holding 22 dice with plenty of room to spare. To print this you'll need one base, one of each tube, six handles and plungers, and 12 pins. In my case I use the solid pins, but I found gluing them in place to be super tricky, so I've included a split pin design that I've used in previous prints, I haven't tested this version but it's worked in the past. The split pins also gives some piece of mind that if the plunger breaks, you can break off the split pin and replace it a bit easier. Assembly is simple enough, just glue the "tubes" to the base piece, use the pins to assembly the mechanism at the back, and then fire away! Bonus points if you use a small rubber band like I have to automatically retract the mechanism. I recommend the clear rubber bands used for hair doubled over as they provide just the right amount of resistance to pull it back, but not too much that it is hard to press the lever. Also, it is worth giving all moving parts a sand and a test fit before gluing to ensure you haven't any print gremlins that are causing the mechanism to stick! Fully disclosure, this only partially works for the troublesome D4....maybe one day I'll be able to design something that deals with this frustrating little pyramid of resin!
