I was on about my 4th flight when I unexpectedly collided with some unseen tree limbs, resulting in a rough landing that left one of my arms scuffed. Deciding an arm protector would be a worthwhile investment, I created this design using Fusion 360. It will provide soft mounting and protection for my arm, which I haven't printed yet, so it's still a work-in-progress. This design should also work on the 2-inch variant as well. While designing this protector, I drew inspiration from the protectors on my Armattan Chameleon when I added the nub to it – although it's not strictly necessary given the bottom-mount battery of the Gecko versus its top-mount configuration. However, it does give me extra material that can be ground down before reaching the carbon inside. At lunchtime, I printed one off and found that the interior needed a bit more space for my arm. To address this, I increased the spacing to 3mm, which is the same as the initial arm design. However, the new v3 version has a slightly wider arm with 3.1mm spacing, and it doesn't have the nub or the band on the bottom. So, I added a version without the nub and then created versions of both designs without the band at the bottom since it's unlikely to be necessary. On March 22nd, 2019, I finally got around to printing the v3 version, which mounted right up – requiring slightly longer screws than usual, which I believe were M2x6 screws.
