Diapositive / Slide scanner (58mm filter thread)
thingiverse
Requires : * quite precise printing for threaded part (tube A) * other parts (tube B and slide slider) may be printed faster * rubber band for holding sliding tubes in position * extension tubes for macrophotography are not provided Before gluing tube B and slide holder together, set all parts on your camera in order to be as close to horizontal as possible. You can adjust horizon slightly afterwards by rotating tube A on the lens but I think it's better for it to be tightly screwed (than on the loose). Scad file is provided for remix or if you need a longer tube / another thread diameter (thread using openscad thread library https://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/ ) I advise you to test beforehand which length would suit your needs. My setup is based on a micro 4/3 (MFT) camera with a 40mm (80mm eq. on full frame) and a 16mm extension tube. I'm able to capture a full 24x36mm slide. The "default" tube_b length of 60mm is a bit short, and I plan to reprint a 70mm long version for more stability. Speaking of improvement, I'm willing to rework the front part, getting rid of the glue for a more modular system. The full setting includes a flat led panel for backlight about 3cm rear from the slide. You'll want plenty of light since you'll need to close up a bit aperture (~f/8) with extension tube. These cheap options for a macro lens tends to be very soft in corners (focal plane not flat), closing as much as you can afford compensate a bit by increasing depth of field (range in focus).
