The air-chamber machine operates as a positive displacement compressor that compacts gas by distending its internal diaphragm to vary the volume of the contained air-space. On the curved upper surface of its cylinder head, an oily fluid plate features apertures through which flows oil from an oil chamber below into one on top. Sandwiched between these components, a central film or membrane, known as a diaphragm, holds and maintains pressure within these two isolated chambers - one containing compressed air the other lubricant fluids in communication with its host cylinder body via further flow-gating apertures upon this same oil distribution panel; multiple threaded fasteners around its periphery affix these three components - diaphragm film or membrane the cylinder head above along side it plus its corresponding chamber holding liquids, securing the entire assembly tightly together thereby insulating them completely from any leakage occurring.
