SolidWorks has designed a diamond ring or multiple diamond rings, which are a type of jewelry adorned with diamonds. These engagement rings boast the diamond effect, a characteristic feature of total solar eclipses. Diamond is a solid form of carbon with a diamond cubic crystal structure that, despite being metastable at room temperature and pressure, remains in its state while graphite is the more stable form. Renowned for its exceptional physical properties derived from strong covalent bonding between atoms, diamond exhibits unparalleled hardness and thermal conductivity, making it a valuable material for industrial applications such as cutting and polishing tools, and scientific ones like diamond knives and anvil cells. Despite having a highly rigid lattice, diamond can be tainted by only a few impurity types, including boron and nitrogen. These impurities or defects cause the stone to take on various colors, such as blue (boron), yellow (nitrogen), brown (lattice defects), green (radiation exposure), purple, pink, orange, or red. Diamond also has a high optical dispersion, allowing it to disperse light of different colors effectively. Most natural diamonds are between 1 billion and 3.5 billion years old, formed at depths of 150 to 250 kilometers in the Earth's mantle, though some have originated from as deep as 800 kilometers. They were later transported to the surface through volcanic eruptions and deposited in igneous rocks like kimberlites and lamproites, millions of years ago.
