Diamond Ring - Brasilia Cathedral
grabcad
Harshul Makwana, a high school sophomore at the Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering, has chosen to remodel the Brasilia Cathedral, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, into a diamond ring. The cathedral's versatile design made this possible while reinventing its purpose. To create the ring, Makwana measured various dimensions of the cathedral and used lofts for sharp curves around its base. The unique diamond was created with angled faces that reflected light differently from store-bought diamonds. Finally, the ring itself featured an engraving of his name on the front face and different colors and polishes around its faces. This project allowed Makwana to learn about architecture and design while creating a beautiful piece of jewelry.
