Diamond hotend direct extruder
thingiverse
Extruder designed to attach directly onto the Diamond Hotend at Thingiverse:720520. Its purpose is enabling rapid printing of flexible materials with superior outcomes. This extruder was developed based on the model available at Thingiverse:835542, tailored specifically for the Prusa i3 Acrylic 8mm. Some strategically placed holes were incorporated to secure the attachment via zipties onto the X axis slider at the top. Its weight demands a strong anchorage due to an uneven gravity centre. The setup is compatible with Thingiverse:780967. The motor used is derived from the NEMA17 Motor found in Thingiverse:67561/#files, a reliable choice for 3D printing applications. As a novice OpenSCAD user, I ventured into this project. The following weights were recorded: Full-loaded extruder weight: 567g Original extruder weight: 464g NEMA17 motor weight: 310g Low-profile NEMA17 motor weight: 220g For assembly, refer to the following print settings: - Printed using a 0.5 mm nozzle with subpar ABS results. Alternatively, Slicr3 allows printing without supports.
