Diamond head to Anet A-8 mounting Bracket

Diamond head to Anet A-8 mounting Bracket

thingiverse

This is a mounting system for a 3-color diamond head to an A-net A-8. It fits directly onto the Anet Aluminum Linear bearings with no modifications, using the file labeled 4 mm holes. Another file is available with 3mm holes, designed specifically to fit our Micrometer height Adjuster, shown in the photos. The mount uses a flange plate between the Diamond Fan and extruder shroud because the original mounting flange is awkward to use, being on the same plane as the linear bearing mounts, which makes screw access impossible. The shroud came with my hotend, but if you don't have it, you can download it here. The flange design also allows for a quick release system for head removal. M3 studs are used (make them by cutting the heads off 40mm x M3 screws). The bracket is counter-bored to allow the nuts to recess into the bracket and wing nuts are used to hold the assembly together, complete with the cooling fan. Spinning off the four wing nuts will allow the whole head and fan to be removed. Look carefully at all photos to see how to assemble and mount everything. At this stage, I haven't upgraded the motherboard with additional stepper drivers. I'm only using the different colors on different prints, so I'm just swapping the stepper plug to the color I want in order to test everything at present. Currently investigating a new board, like the Rhumba, or seeing if I can add some stepper driver board to the Anet motherboard. Please comment if you have already done these mods and add some photos if you make one and find it useful.
