A vital, dependable and highly convenient dial indicator support that's strategically positioned at the rear side of the Tevo Tarantula X-carriage plays a crucial role in my 3D printing setup. I utilize this clever design for manually leveling the bed to ensure perfect alignment, as well as setting the nozzle height with precision to achieve a flawless first layer. This ingenious design is specifically tailored for the dial indicator available on Aliexpress at http://bit.ly/2zvLmud, allowing me to accurately measure and adjust my printer's settings. To install this support, I replace the original back side of the dial indicator using the same tiny screws that came with it. For added stability, two 6mm screws are securely fastened to two internal bolts embedded in the piece, effectively holding the dial indicator firmly in place on the X-carriage. To prevent any damage to my printer's aluminum or acrylic carriage, I designed a protective insert that serves as a buffer between the screws and the carriage material. This thoughtful design ensures smooth operation and minimizes the risk of scratching the delicate surfaces, allowing me to focus on producing high-quality prints with ease and precision.
