This allows a magnetic base with 9.75 dia rods to securely hold a rear mounted dial indicator in place at the end of the rod. I obtained both items second-hand and discovered that the base was missing its gauge mount. Some dial indicator mounts utilize the stem, but using the rear mount adds an extra degree of freedom for more precise measurements. The hex nut provided is designed to fit M5 x 20mm long hex set screws, while thumb nuts are used on the opposite side for added convenience. The clevis for attaching the dial indicator mount measures 6mm in width, and the rear mount on the dial indicator itself has a diameter of 4.9mm.
