Dial Indicator mount for Anet A8
thingiverse
This is a small attachment I designed to hold a dial indicator against the print head of my Anet A8. It's not ideal, but it functions for me. The hole in the attachment fits a gauge with an 8mm shaft diameter, and the tiny screw I use to secure the gauge in place comes from an old xyz stop switch - a little 2mm self-tapping screw. I uploaded a slightly different STL (hopefully improved) than what's pictured here. It has deeper screw holes for the fan shield and is a bit larger to give more robust support to the gauge. Here's how I use it: First, set your Z-Offset. Then level your bed using as many points as you like - my bed is slightly concave, so I measure near the corners and call it good. Once your bed is level, re-check your Z-offset, and you're ready to go. If you find this useful and have any suggestions for how it could be improved, I'm all ears.
