Dial Indicator Mount - Clausing Lathe (5900 Series)
thingiverse
Dial indicator mount for Clausing lathe, or a lathe with 70° included angle x ~0.25" across top way that is ~1" in height. Dial indicator can be flip-flopped for LH or RH of carriage. Part is designed for M6 hot-melt brass thread inserts for clamping block and dial indicator mount, however other size thread inserts or shop made inserts may of course be super-glued or epoxied in place. The dial indicator mounting region is designed to support Shars dial indicators as shown, and I'm unsure if other may work. The center vertical bump out on the clamp block is intentional, to insure proper orientation of the block. Top brass insert for clamping handle pass=through and bearing area is to be machined at 0.50" OD x 0.125" height hat section and body is 0.375" OD x 0.375" length. I printed the mount in PLA and the clamp block in PETG -PETG for both may be better. Rotating the mount upside down on the 45°, creates print with minimal supports (as shown).
