My Robo3D has been modified with a custom hot end that features ESD V6 technology, however, the original component failed to meet the necessary height requirements. To address this issue, I generated a customized STL file, specifically tailored to lower the object by 8mm to accommodate the hot end's unique design. The customization involved several key steps: I created a new STL file that incorporated the adjustments necessary for void areas and applied these changes to optimize the printing process. To develop the customized part, I used a combination of tools. Firstly, I utilized Inkscape to adjust the design, making it 8mm shorter as required. Next, I created four separate SVG snapshots via 123Design and modified them in Inkscape to meet the necessary specifications. Following this, I employed 123Design to extrude each layer individually before merging them together in a sequential manner. However, I experienced difficulties with my Inkscape operations, resulting in rough and uneven surfaces, along with noticeable gaps that require attention. Fortunately, users can modify these aspects using 123Design, effectively "cutting off" areas of the design as needed.
