To align your bed and check for center on a work piece . Made with a bit of girth to kill any flex or overhang . The margin is none, so a little bit of a hand ream on the 8mm might be needed. The 3mm is made in for extra security for a piece-of-mind but use is not required. ( but .. it is there , if you want it .. ) Can be tapped to m3 or drilled at 3.2 trough for a nut+bolt connection . It is made for a HQ400/3 but will most likely fit any 16mm tool post lathes. The dial gauge used is a Mitutoyo 2046S but should fit any indicator with a 8mm mount.
