Dial indicator holder for Sherline lathe
youmagine
This holder secures a dial indicator with an 8mm stem receptacle. The indicator is positioned horizontally, at center height, and firmly anchored to the cross-slide, making it simple to configure a 4-jaw setup. You may wish to print the T-nuts flat on the printer bed, as they can be challenging to print otherwise. Apply adhesive to the countersunk screws within the T-nuts, and attach the M3 nuts to the printed thumbwheels (hex hole). Apply adhesive to the pan head screw in the printed thumbscrew (round hole). With the indicator positioned in this manner and secured to the cross-slide, you can efficiently set up a 4-jaw or accurately measure a taper since the indicator is mounted on the slide, allowing for precise control over both X and Z axes. I have also included my Solidworks 2014 source files for reference.
