This allows you to temporarily attach a Pittsburgh dial indicator from Harbor Freight onto the effector plate of the Rostock Max. This enables you to more precisely level and adjust horizontal radius than possible using a paper shim. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 15% Notes: I used 3 top & bottom layers and 3 perimeters to make the part pretty stiff. Custom Section How to use: Slide the fixed sleeve of the dial indicator into the center hole of the printed piece. It should be very snug, as you don't want it to move. Install the assembly in place of your hot end using the three screws & standoffs with the display facing toward you. The stylus of the dial indicator should reach well below where the extruder normally is. That is okay. Use your software to tell your printer to move to Z height of 0, then carefully zero the dial indicator. This will be your zero point of reference from that point forward. You can now use your tower calibration routines and horizontal radius adjustment process to fine-tune your printer. When everything looks close (don't worry about anything less than 0.05mm), remove the dial indicator and carefully reinstall your hot end. To double-check your work, preheat your bed & hot end, then use your software to move to a Z height of ~5mm. Then, use the front console to carefully dial down toward zero. If it needs a little Z adjustment at this point, that's okay. Use the console to do that, then you're ready to print. Z height adjustment should be the only thing you'll have to adjust unless you change other parts of the system or the printer gets a hard bump.
