Dial Indicator Carriage for Replicator 2
thingiverse
I modified the dial indicator carriage 77734 slightly to improve its functionality. The added features include smaller magnetic components that measure a quarter of an inch in length and one sixteenth of an inch in width. The bearings are identical, while the upper compartment now contains no cavities. To securely hold the dial indicator, I drilled a hole at the top for a set screw. Behind each magnet, additional holes were made to allow easy extraction. Manufacturing Process: Using 3 layers on top, bottom, and sides with an infill of 10%, I printed the modifications with Simplify3D's help. As for installation, the magnets are designed to press-fit into their designated holes without need for glue or other fastening means. Assembly Requirements: * One dial indicator, as described * 6x bearings: Each one measures 12mm in diameter, 8mm internally and is 3.5mm deep. * 1x bearing measuring 12mm across the top, with a depth of 4mm internally and an 6mm bore size. * A total of 6 rare earth magnets measuring one-quarter inch by 1/16" each in length. * A 6-32 set screw to match its companion tapping device.
