Create brackets for holding a dial indicator when measuring travel distance on Prusa's three axes without removing any parts. This simple design may be suitable for Mendel and similar builds. The OpenSCAD model, though partially parametric, is now available for use. Employ bracketYZ to measure Y and Z movements, while bracketX is for the X dimension. Secure the indicator and bar clamp using 6-32 nuts and bolts; a wingnut is recommended for better clamping force. Calibrate your steps/mm accurately! This setup also helps in measuring backlash. Prior to zeroing, perform a movement in the opposite direction for accurate readings. To measure backlash, set indicator after a backward movement following a forward one.
