Dial Gauge adapter for Ender 3 Pro
thingiverse
This is an adapter for directly mounting a dial gauge on the Printer Head. I made this model so it fits my purpose. I already deattached the extruder because i am using my printer as a plotter right now. If you want to leave the extruder attached, there are better models for your purpose. What you need: 1x M3 Nut 1x M3 Bolt 1x Dial Gauge First you need to level one screw from the bed to the right height, do this by using a piece of standard paper as you may see it in some tutorials. Now, simply take off the extruder by loosening the two bolts on the housing, then the two screws holding the extruder in Place. I zip tied mine to the top bar so nothing is hanging down while i work on it. Auto Home the steppers. Now you can mount the adapter, insert the dial gauge and tighten it so it sits firmly in place. Set z height to 20+mm and navigate die dial gauge so that it is right above the screw you already leveled. Set z heigt to something like 10mm so that the tip of the gauge is touching the plate. Read the value, remember it or write it down and move z back up. Now navigate to the next screw (they are 170mm apart in every direction), get z back to 10mm (the z value at which you checked the value of the other screw) and turn the adjusting screw until you have the same value. Be careful not to have an offset of a whole mm, always watch the smaller gauge too. Repeat this with every adjusting screw and lastly check the middle of your plate as well to make sure it didnt warp.
