Diagonal Scales Rule

Diagonal Scales Rule

One challenge a colleague faced recently was measuring a series of holes spaced at an interval specified to one hundredth of an inch. Standard precision rules like Moore & Wright or Starrett offer imperial markings on one side, listing measurements in tenths, twentieths, fiftieths, and hundredths as well as sixteenths, thirty-seconds, and sixty-fourths. It seemed more practical to utilize dividers for this task. To set dividers to a measurement of one hundredth of an inch, you'll need a diagonal scale rule. For further information on how to achieve this, visit the website at http://www.mathsinstruments.me.uk/page34.html. More detailed explanations can be found in the ds1.pdf document by Ty Harness. Unfortunately, my k8200 printer faces difficulties with this specific measurement requirement.
