#### Why My wife requested a sheath to cover the sharp end of her diagonal cutters, which she carries in her purse. I designed it using OpenSCAD, a free and open-source tool that takes ordinary text files as input. #### A Word About OpenSCAD To adjust this for your use, comment out most of the modules and add a call to cutter() at the end of the file. Now adjust the CUTTER_X, CUTTER_Y, and CUTTER_Z values for your cutter or pliers. When you have the model of the cutter to your liking, uncomment the modules you commented out to get the full model. Render, then Save As STL. #### See Also Check out thing:82211 for a different take on a pliers sheath. ### Second Thoughts I should have printed the "hole", the negative cutter model, in vase mode as a quick check that I got the size right. This print came out close enough, so I didn't need to bother, but it's a nice cheap pre-check. ### Third Thoughts In April 2019, I simply cut off the notches, engaged the spring on the nippers, and the spring tension makes the jaws press against the inside of the case strongly enough. #### Next Steps This could easily be converted into a Customizer. Instead of using "buttons" and a rubber band, this could be redesigned to use springy pieces of the part to lock into the notch in the cutter.
