Diadem

The Lutheran parish, Hallgrímskirkja, an engineering marvel and work of art, is one of Iceland's most famous landmarks. Inspired by its unique beauty and architecture, I redesigned the traditional building into a stunning diadem made from precious metals like gold and silver, adorned with diamonds and other jewels. The intricate headpiece can be created using a 3D printer, with the development of printers capable of printing metal opening up new possibilities. My design is based on Hallgrímskirkja's architecture, combining straight lines and curved edges for an elegant balance. As a wearable accessory, its symmetry ensures even weight distribution for balance and functionality. This diadem demonstrates the potential to reimagine traditional building purposes through 3D printing technology.
