Test using 2020 Macropod PRO 2.0 pre-release by www.macroscopicsolutions.com. System images and designs are coming shortly. Captured using Stack-Rotate mode at 1x magnification with the MP-E 65mm, taking 72 stacked images to account for 5 degrees of stereo rotation along one oblique axis. Flash set to 1/32, ISO at 500, exposure time at 1/200, and aperture at f4.0, while maintaining a magnification of 1x. Images were scripted in Photoshop and then imported into Metashape as a single chunk. Two of the 72 images were masked and aligned into a low-density point cloud. A stereo assembly stitching method was used, with tools and preferences adjusted to optimize results. Input parameters included setting main/mesh_tv1 to false before applying tweaks. To assemble the model, point clouds were not utilized. Instead, workflow built mesh from depth maps using an ultra-high quality setting. The final model can be highly refined through additional methods. For example, dense cloud data can be used to generate a model in a second chunk and then merged, combined, and smoothed with further refinement. I plan to take these actions on future tests.
