I wanted something on my desk that wasn't huge, didn't scream for attention with bright red, and didn't warn of bio hazards. For my diabetic pen needles, I created this solution. It has a needle bender for both ends of the needle cap - one is just a hole where you lay the needle at an angle so it sits on the plastic, then push the cap end into it. The internal needle stub gets bent by laying the needle itself on a slope and pushing the cap down, making it now bent and out of the way. I always bend needles over the outside but worried that if I dropped one, my daughter could still get hurt. Now, without tweezers and more dexterity than she has at her age, she can poke and prod it safely if one does get loose. The inside needle nub is separate so the lid can be printed flat; it just needs to be glued in. I included the Fusion 360 file with adjustable settings for a good fit after printing. To adjust the size and printer tolerance, open the file and go to Modify -> Change Parameters. There, you'll find three variables: LidTolerance, ContainerSize, and ContainerHeight. Adjust those and the model will follow.
