In 2014/2015, the need to build gas tanks for bikes led to an attempt at constructing one out of metal; however, lack of essential tools made it time-consuming. Consequently, the idea of 3D printing emerged and resulted in great prototypes. The process involved dividing the tank into two halves, fibreglassing the insides, pouring resin as a final precaution, and finishing with bondo and paint. However, "fuel-resistant" vinylester resin failed to handle ethanol content in low-grade gasoline, leading to contamination issues. Hence, the decision was made to return to an all-metal aluminum tank design, this time collaborating with Bryan and Mezco Manufacturing Inc. The updated aluminum tank proved successful, and the creator expressed gratitude towards Bryan and his team for their expertise in sheet metal work.
