DHT11 Moisture Housing
thingiverse
This small enclosure was specifically crafted to safeguard the DHT11 sensor from mist or moisture that may settle on it, particularly in reptile habitats or areas where condensation accumulates. To ensure optimal airflow, the design features an open area at the bottom while maintaining close proximity to the top and sides. The wires leading from the DHT11 should be given a 1cm loop before reentering through the pass-through slot at the back of the housing. This loop allows any collected moisture on the wires to drip off harmlessly, preventing it from reaching the sensitive sensor. Given the variety of sizes available for breakout boards designed for DHT sensors, this enclosure was intentionally made slightly oversized to accommodate different dimensions.
