DHR Inspection Car/Veteran Car 1907
thingiverse
In the May 2013 of the Darjeeling Mail (journal of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society) there was an article on an inspection car originally described in the Popular Mechanics magazine back in 1907. This is my interpretation of the vehicle. Apart from one photograph there appears to be no other information available. From the shape of the bonnet and radiator I suspect the car is a product of the French Gladiator company. Basically a small motor car is mounted on a timber frame with railway wheels. The drive to the railway wheels appears to be by chain and sprocket. See :-https://archive.org/stream/PopularMechanics1907/Popular_Mechanics_11_1907#page/n41/mode/2up page 1217
