Print in PLA or ABS (PLA works well, but ABS might run a risk of changing tolerances and having trouble getting bolts into place). A rough guide follows: Remove the original stick by undoing the nut from underneath the stick shaft (base) and sliding it up and out. Prise the grey cap off, separate the ball halves, slide the long bolt out (reuse this bolt and nut). Using a hacksaw - cut the ball knob off just below the ball, leaving the approximately 15mm thick shaft and lower shaft. Print the models. Slide the bolt into the new gear stick. Ensure it is fully in, then slide the stock plastic shaft into the new stick housing (if it's too tight, lightly sand the plastic stock shaft a little). Tap the insert into the bolt hole to cover it up (I had to sand mine smooth because it wouldn't go in fully. I have tweaked the dimensions - so it should be okay). Assemble into the original hole, fit the retaining nut and tighten (do not over tighten here!). Enjoy your new gear stick/hand brake. Hopefully this is long enough to be useful without being too long. It feels perfect for me, I can use it as a handbrake without taking my hands off the wheel if need be, with just finger tips.
