DF65 Hull Reinforcements
cults3d
Has your DF65 hull started to crack, many do. If you are sailing hard in strong winds with the yacht overpowered your hull will most likely crack in the near future. The DF65 rules now allow reinforcing with resin and glass. For my practice yacht, the one I flog, I have gone another step and added 3d printed reinforcing under the battery hole and under the servo enclosure opening. They are both very difficult to see as they are printed in white. I wont be using this for club racing as it may be deemed illegal. I have cracks around the battery hatch, around the keel and around the holes that secure the winch, servo mounting box. I printed in white, the photos added show or rather don't show as the parts are under the deck. I have included a stick to spread the resin. As you can see, I have glassed the Hull Wall around the battery hole and also around the keel. Hopefully the cracks won't get any worse. They are easy to install, just place Resin on the parts and secure in place with alligator clips as shown. I used West System G/flex 650 Resin.
