A knife sheath for one of the most widely available low-cost paring knives in commercial markets, the Dexter, requires careful design. A snug fit ensures that the blade remains secure within the sheath. Adding holes allows for easy cleaning to maintain hygiene standards. Printing on its side eliminates the need for supports, streamlining the manufacturing process. Preliminary tests using a 0.6 nozzle resulted in messy prints due to the small area involved. Using a 0.4 nozzle and optimizing layer settings significantly improves print quality, producing a clean and precise final product that no longer requires supports or extensive clipping.
