The Lightweight Dexter Face Shield is a simple design that can be produced quickly when standard supplies are not available but face shields must still be used. It can be made at a low cost and in a short time: it costs approximately 20 cents and takes about six minutes (!) to print using a speed of 120mm/s. For the stacked version, follow this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4424287 1. Print the model using a rigid material such as PLA. 2. Take an A5 clear plastic sheet - or an A4 cut in half. 3. On the long side of the sheet, use a regular hole punch to make 4 holes, two at each corner. Use the hole spacer to position the holes correctly. The design for the spacer is supplied as an STL-file that can be printed in under a minute. 4. Using scissors, make a small horizontal cut on the side of each hole to make it easier to pass through. 5. Press the knobs on the sides of the frame through the holes in the sheet. 6. Tie three elastic bands together. When putting on the face shield, put the resulting longer elastic band around the knobs at the back to improve fit. Important: When wearing the face shield, remember not to take unnecessary risks and follow all other necessary precautions against infection in addition to wearing the face shield. Follow guidelines given by medical professionals and the government. The use of professional face shields is always preferred where possible. When producing the face shield, work hygienically and make sure the final product is sturdy enough to withstand regular use. Be sure to share your creations!
