Dexter Cordless Drill IC120CD AC adapter

Dexter Cordless Drill IC120CD AC adapter

The Cordless Drill IC120CD only works with batteries, but you can still use it without batteries thanks to this 3D-printable adapter and an AC power adapter. This adapter has lock clips that you can unlock from the drill by pressing on them. It also lets you store your drill tools inside of it. To assemble this adapter, you will need to print two parts: the base and the plug. You can put them together with or without glue as you prefer. Once printed, you'll have to attach small metal plates to the plug part and solder them to an AC adapter to ensure electrical contact inside the drill. You can use old 3LR12 battery contacts for these metal plates. This adapter has been tested using PLA filament. However, be aware that the base part may not fit your model (like the IC180CD), while the plug part is compatible. If this happens, you have two options: modify the base to fit your model or print and use only the plug part. I've tested it without the base, and since there's no battery weight, it works perfectly inside the drill. You can find the FreeCad sources for this project in a ZIP file attached. There are also PDF files showing some measurements if you want to quickly check your drill and these parts' compatibility. Version 1.1 was released on June 2, 2019, with improved lock handles. Version 1.0 came out on May 30, 2019. You can find more information about this project at https://sitelec.org/themes/perceuse/perceuse.htm
