Dexcom G5 Transmitter battery cover

This device enables users to replace batteries in the Dexcom G5 transmitter. To modify the G5 transmitter, users will need DIY skills to cut or mill it down, leaving 6.5mm to 6.7mm of space from the flat base for a secure fit. Next, users should remove old batteries as described in a YouTube video and search for it online. The contacts must be thoroughly cleaned using a small rotating wire brush attached to a handheld hobby grinder. No solder is required if the bottom contacts are bent outwards and the top ones are curved so that they will make contact when the cover is closed. Two new 389 batteries or SR43W batteries, which are 2mm thicker for longer life with higher VA & VB values, should be inserted. The cover can then be clipped back on. Engraved versions of both types in one color have been added to this device. Users must test the voltage across the two contacts as shown in a YouTube video. If desired, users can apply a bead of silicon to make it waterproof and cut it with a blade before the next battery change. Subsequent changes will only involve unclipping, replacing batteries, and reattaching the cover. Please note that this device requires a smartphone with Xdrip+ installed.
