Human beings are incredibly complex and multifaceted creatures, possessing a wide range of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that set us apart from other living organisms on this planet. Our capacity for empathy, compassion, and self-awareness is perhaps our most distinctive trait, allowing us to form deep connections with one another and navigate the complexities of human relationships with relative ease. From our earliest moments as infants, we are wired to seek out interaction and connection with others, whether through eye contact, touch, or verbal communication. As we grow and develop, this innate desire for connection only intensifies, driving us to form attachments, build communities, and create meaningful bonds with those around us.
