You Need an Adapter to Charge Your XR DeWalt Batteries on Any Universal LI-xx Charger. I'm a huge fan of using this adapter with my DCB181 battery, especially after my original charger kicked the bucket. As someone who programmed their own LI-xx charger, I can confidently say that you'll be able to charge any battery it fits without breaking a sweat. To set up my charger perfectly, I follow these steps: 1. First things first, I dial in 1.5 amps - and if you're working with a 4Ah battery, go ahead and crank it up to 4A. 2. Next up, I activate the 60-minute safety timer so you can get on with your project without worrying about overcharging. 3. Don't bother turning on balance; these chargers do a fine job of taking care of that on their own. So, go ahead and use this adapter to give your batteries some TLC - but remember, I'm not liable if you blow anything up. Just sayin'.
