Dust shoe and air deflector designed for Dewalt DWP 611 router, prints as a single part.\nDust control is crucial when operating a CNC router indoors, especially in cold climates where fine dust particles can circulate for months.\nChronic exposure to such particulates will lead to severe respiratory diseases like COPD and emphysema. Aggressive dust control is therefore essential. A good dust shoe plays a key role in this strategy.\nMost routers vent cooling air vertically, creating a flow that scatters dust everywhere. This airflow works against the suction of the vacuum, spewing a lot of dust into the air when using a dust collection shoe. This dust shoe vents clean cooling air by deflecting it sideways and up, away from the work surface and cutting.\nIt also provides cutouts for built-in LEDs to shine through.\nThis design was created for my Shapeoko 3 but may also work with other CNC DWP 611 router combinations like X-Carve or home-brew setups. Please let me know if you've used it successfully in a different application.\nRequires:\n2 x M5 20 mm screws to secure the dust skirt to the router.\n12" x 1.5" of clear vinyl, similar to a transparent floor runner (for the skirt).\n10 x #6 wood screws 1/2".\n2" O.D. ABS pipe.\nFEATURES:\nHoles for LEDs.\nAirflow directed upwards and to the side.\nExternal ring for fitting dust skirt.\nEasily removable.\nPrinted in PLA, could be printed in soft PLA to deaden sound but I have not tried it.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand: Printrbot.\nPrinter: Simple Black.\nRafts: No.\nSupports: Yes.\nResolution: .3 mm nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height.\nInfill: 25%.\nNotes:\nPrint speed: 55 mm/s.\nBed temp: 55 Deg Celsius.\nExtruder temp: 210 Deg Celsius.\nApprox print time: 7h 58 minutes.\nPrint bed size is the expanded 10" x 6" y-axis upgrade variety.\nPost-Printing\nSeparating Perimeter Skirt Retainer Ring\nPerimeter Skirt Retainer Ring prints in place and separates easily. Supports should be used everywhere to ensure crisp edges on overhang.\nPry gently with a flat screw driver after separating from top supports with a sharp box cutter.\nClean up gently with a sharp blade.\nCut vinyl skirt to length with 1/2" overlap and wrap around the body of the dust shoe.\nPlace ring around the vinyl skirt and gently screw into place using a manual screwdriver.\nTapping holes for M5 tensioner screws\nUse a tap and dies set to tap holes for M5 tensioner screws. These are the two screws that allow the router bracket to clamp securely around the router body.\nTap holes on the rear bracket from behind, there's no need to tap through front bracket.\nAfter tapping is complete, add some silicon spray or machine oil for ease of operation and to reduce strain and wear on threads.\nTap screw holes on back flange only - Tap from the back vs through the front flange holes\nUse countersink drill to taper screw holes if necessary.
