DeWalt DW708 Miter Saw Dust Assembly Replacement

We all know how DeWalt's dust collecting assembly is a major pain point, so here's my attempt at fixing it. While my unit does manage to collect most sawdust, there's a huge compromise involved in the vertical cuts, which might just be a deal-breaker for some users. Since I don't do much work with crown molding, I'm good with using this assembly. Most of us probably use our sliding saws as chop saws anyway, so we won't be affected by this limitation.
